I recently saw "No Country For Old Men".Javier Bardem is one of the most frightening characters I have seen in any movie.The movie as a whole was excellent!!!

No Country for Old Men- Best thing I've seen in a couple months- not the typical good vs. evil were all used to. Terrible ending but the everything else rocked about it.

There was a movie in theatres I think last year. It's about these people who wake up in a warehouse (that is atleast what it looks like) and don't remember what happened. And they're all being held against their will. But one of them is really the person who is doing it all. And they all have to figure it out. Sorry I know it's vague, but I really want to see this movie. It's basically an R rated thriller I'm assuming.

-Jigsaw locks a few unlucky people in a booby trapped shelter and they must find a way out before they inhale too much of a lethal nerve gas and die. But they must watch out, for the traps Jigsaw has set in the shelter lead to death also.

Is it a Saw movie, Saw3 and they are being tortured, I think thats what you're talking about.
It sounds like several movies. A couple that come to mind are Saw 2 and Mindhunters. Mindhunters is an older movie (2003, maybe?) about FBI profilers, starring Val Kilmer and Christian Slater.

Superhero Movie is supposed to be stupid but funny, like all the other Scary Movies so if you like those, id see superhero movie, + it has Pamela Anderson in it, lol!

I know its in limited release but 'In Bruges' is a different kind of vehicle, as far as being a quirky english comedy. You don't have to suffer with a ton of predictabilty through it. I'm saving up to see summer blockbusters which look cool.

Miss Petigrew Lives for a Day was excellent. Great acting, funny story, touching - Frances McDormand, Amy Adams and well all of them, great cast.

A friend of mine is planning a release of his movie in US. We will be releasing the movie in only 2-3 cities. Its like releasing a bollywood movie in select theatres. The movie will run for a couple days or may be a week. I am wondering if someone knows the procedure of how this process will work since the movie wont be rated by MPAA and we aren't interested in going through the known movie distrubutors mainly due to zero profit margins. I have tried independent film alliance and other independent film organisation but noone is able to answer.

We are planning to rent out a screen per theatre per city for a couple days or maximum a week. We will sell the tickets ourselves over the counter and advertise ahead of time. My question is :

yes any movie that is not rated has not been rated by the mpaa as for distrubition that you got me on im not sure what to do there but yes you can release a movie in the usa without the Mpaa rating it.

You may be able to work out a deal with theaters like the Alamo Drafthouse Theaters in Texas where you can make money as long as they get a certain amount in concessions. Remember, theaters make the majority of their money from the concessions. Talk to them about putting up movie posters as well, if you have them.

You can contact the local cable company for each city about advertising in only certain geographic areas. Rates are much lower. In my geographic area, it costs as little as $40 to $50 for each thirty second spot during prime time. Run a couple of different thirty second trailers and see if the cable company will let you target your audience by showing them during shows that draw the same target audience.

Also contact local talk shows well ahead of time about scheduling you to do interviews about your movie. See if they'll let you play a scene segment cut from the movie as well to draw audience interest.

What is a legal opinion of the movie "Fracture?"?

There is a new movie in theatres called "Fracture." A Husband shoots to kill his wife. Instead of dying right away, the wife is injured badly and put into a coma. Because she isn't dead yet, the husband is charged with attempted murder (instead of murder). By using a few legal tricks, the judge dismisses the case and lets him go free.

The husband then visits his dying wife in the hospital, whom is being kept alive with life support. He tells the hospital to pull the plug. They do, and the wife dies.

Later, the DA visits the husband. In the husband's arrogance, he admits his guilt to the DA thinking he can't be charged again due to double-jeopardy. The DA says thats wrong because he was charged with attempted murder. Now that the wife is dead, it's considered murder. The DA charges him for muder and the movie ends. Presumably, the husband looses his case.

What is your legal opinion of this? I would still think it should fall into the category of double jeopardy.

I wouldnt call myself a member of the loyal Harry Potter cult but i saw the latest movie in theatres last night and i feel like i got legally robbed that movie sucked. It cost 28 bucks for two people to see it opening night on the imax screen. I think the movie was crap, anyone else? Oh and no offense to the die hard Harry Potter fans on here, just voicing my opinion, thanks for listening.

I am a total Harry Potter fanatic, and though the movie wasn't a complete disappointment to me in terms of special effects and cast, it still made me utterly frustrated and somewhat disappointed on how they translated the book into the movie. The whole storyline was just off, they changed too much of it (budgeting maybe?). I would've understood though if they just cut some scenes, but to change a lot of the events was just too much. I do feel a little sad about how a lot of people who never read the books would never know how great the real story was though because the movie didn't even come close to showing it..

i guess if one never read the book though, it may not be as bad (or maybe it is?), but aren't you guys kinda annoyed that there were hardly any action scenes as well? and that book was supposed to have a whole lot.. the finale (as what they call it in the IMAX screening) only showed about 1/8 of all the action that should have transpired if you base it on the book.. really really disappointing..

I'm a loyal Harry Potter fan and I was dissapointed about how badly they adapted the book to the movie. I suppose that if you had never read the books, it was awesome. If those "master-minds" are behind the next film, I don't know if i want to see it. But of course, I want to see how bad it is, plus I have to see it because the words 'Harry Potter' in it.
I haven't seen it yet but considering what a sleeper the book was, I'm not holding my breath for the movie to be any better.
It wasn't the best, but as I die hard Harry Potter fan, I believe that was because the fifth year is the transition to let us all know that Voldemort is truly back and now all the wizards know it. The next one is when they actually start the war, so it will be a lot better. I am pretty sure this one just did its job to prepare us for the war or next films to come. I do agree though, I was let down.

Same here, they skipped out alot on the movie. But I think it was the best one out of them all. The fighting scene was the best with Dumbledore and Voldemort.
